New Mondeo a more valuable used car

The new Mondeo will hold its value better than the current model, according to industry experts EurotaxGlass's.

The company, which publishes lists predicting the value different cars will hold as they age, says that the new model will have a trade price around £6,300 after three years and 60,000 miles, compared to under £5,500 for the current Mondeo.

Furthermore, the new Mondeo is actually cheaper than the car it is replacing, making this an promising investment both as a new and nearly new vehicle.

"The Mondeo has never really been an emotional purchase – more often than not it has been the traditional mainstay of fleets which has merely satisfied a need for transport rather than become a status symbol in the company car park," said the forecasting editor at EurotaxGlass's, Jason King.

"However, with the new car a premium feel is far more evident inside and out, injecting a much needed shot of desirability into the Mondeo name," he added.

The new Mondeo, set to arrive on UK forecourts within three months, will retail from around £15,000, a very reasonable price for as prestigious a vehicle as this.

The new design work was dramatically improved the car's looks, and with a competitive car finance deal this is both an affordable vehicle and a good bet for resale as a used car.
