The launch of a large number of new cars at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show means that car finance customers looking for a used car could snap up a bargain.

The launch of a large number of new cars at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show means that car finance customers looking for a used car could snap up a bargain.

According to Which? magazine, the time is right to take advantage of forecourts looking to clear models that will soon become replaced by newer versions.

The consumer watchdog also suggests some models which could be subject to a discount such as the Peugeot 307, claiming that opting for an S or Sport edition of the French hatchback could save motorists up to £2,500.

It is also suggested that drivers looking to spend their money on something more high powered, including those with approved car loans, could look at the Impreza WRX which is due to be replaced following the announcement of an STI version.

The new Impreza WRX STI was revealed on the Top Gear website earlier this year and is set for release this month boasting permanent four-wheel drive and a choice of 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5-litre engines.

According to the website the 2.5-litre version should offer 227 bhp and is expected to go from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.
