Motor industry news magazine Auto Trader has announced the results of its annual awards, which may be of interest to motorists seeking new car finance.
According to motortorque.com, the magazine found the Ford Focus RS the best used car purchase with the car also accepting the title of best hot hatch.
The Rover 75 took the award for best family car, which the site claims was the surprise of the evening as it beat of such fierce competition as Ford's Focus and its other larger model the Mondeo.
Commenting on the ceremony Jason Dawe, host of the event, said that the closeness of the competition had seen the emergence of a few surprise winners.
"There have been a couple of surprises cars that the motoring journalists might not rate, but shrewd used car buyers know make a great purchase," he said.
The award for best sports car was Mitsubishi's Ralliart FTO and the Jaguar XJ scooped the gong for best luxury car.
