According to Nexteppe Business Solutions, dealerships could be losing out on a number of customers - including those who may recently have secured car finance - and should be considering an online marketing drive.

The group has launched a campaign that targets the mobile internet and encourages new and used car dealers to build on any existing multi-media advertising to secure new customers as well as strengthen existing relationships.

The importance of a strong marketing campaign was highlighted earlier this month by a recent study from Borrell Associates which revealed "car buyers are spending five hours researching cars online, meaning less time with traditional media."

It is suggested that car dealers can benefit from mobile marketing in a number of ways, including offering inventory lists to customers and setting up text alerts for sales and maintenance schedules.
