The site advises that before purchasing a used car, buyers should consider bringing a friend along with them and that this should "preferably [be] one who knows cars".
It also suggests thoroughly inspecting all areas of the vehicle - both inside and out - and where possible employing a qualified inspector or mechanic to do this.
Asking questions is also important, the article notes, and querying the history of the car is well within your rights, as is taking the car for a thorough test drive and checking the used car's warranty.
