A new car is heading for the market seeking to topple BMW's popular Mini range, it has emerged.
According to Auto Express new car shoppers, including those who may have secured a car loan, will be given more small car options soon as Lancia has announced it will enter the market.
The magazine reports that the Ypsilon will target cars such as the Mini, the Fiat 500 and Alfa Romeo's new MiTo and will feature a distinctive chrome trim, two-tone paintwork and LED lights.
It is expected that the car will have a spacious interior, with an easy-access boot and folding rear seats, but will also continue with the manufacturer's reputation for being a luxury brand.
Auto Express notes that a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol model is expected, as well as more economical 1.3 and 1.9-litre diesel versions - which may be of interest to car finance customers on a budget.
