Ford has announced that it aims to cut its CO2 emissions across Europe and the US, car loans customers with environmental concerns may be interested to learn.
Bloomberg reports this week that the manufacturer of popular models such as the Focus, Mondeo and Fiesta has made the announcement in a bid to attract buyers, including those with car loans, by projecting a greener image.
It is reported that the company has seen Toyota surge ahead in terms of sales, which is partly due to the fact that the firm markets itself as environmentally-friendly and has had global success with its hybrid petrol-electric Prius model.
Ford Group vice-president, Susan Cischke, admitted that in the past the company had failed to fully meet its commitments on sustainability and reducing CO2 emissions, but that the new plans were "a blueprint of where we're really going".
"I'm very confident we will be able to stay on course," the news agency claims she added.
Earlier this month, Ford's Mondeo 1.8 LX was found to be the best bargain used car in terms of depreciation in a survey conducted by Carcraft.
