Mercedes' series of Smart car may be popular with car finance customers but it could soon become even more in demand, a new article has suggested
According to the Associated Press, the latest vehicle in the Smart range was unveiled recently at the 2008 News Sentinel Auto Show and had no shortage of admirers.
One spokeswoman for Mercedes, Kristin Gracy, said that the car was "mobbed at the opening," adding that "the funny thing is that they [were] mostly men."
It is reported the new car, which could soon be available to drivers with new car loans, will measure 8.8 feet in length and is 5.1 feet tall and builds on the demand for more environmentally-friendly motoring offering 41 motorway miles to the gallon.
Also appearing at the show was Toyota, who took the opportunity to offer attendees the chance to drive a Prius - one of the most popular fuel-efficient hybrids available on the current market.
Last year, Smart's latest fortwo model was given a four star Euro NCAP Adult Occupant protection rating - avoiding a child rating due to its lack of rear seats.
