My father purchased a car from Skoda last year using a finance agreement. The car is used for business purposes (as a taxi) and this was disclosed at the point of purchase. The car has had a lot of faults, costing a lot of money and it's a known problem in VW engines. My father is losing money every day whilst Skoda repair the problem and he's at the point now where he is considering rejecting the finance. Where does he stand as ideally he wants the finance cleared, leaving him free to purchase a new car so that he can continue to work?
Hi Hollie, apologies for the delay in responding. How old is the car? If it is under 3 years old Skoda should cover the major issues under manufacturers warranty. However, if it's older than 3 years old there's not a great deal that you can do other than get an independent inspection and get the car fixed once and for all. Also, if your father has had the car for less than 6 months then legally the car dealer has to put the problem right (only if it's a major mechanical problem). Please come back to me with the further information and i'll try and help you. Kind Regards, Edwin :-)
