Can i get car finance if unemployed?

Hi, i was discharged from bankruptcy November 2010. I now have a mail order catalogue with a credit limit of £1900 and have recently got a credit card with a limit of £250.

I'm looking for car finance of about £2000 - £3000, my only problem is i am unemployed and don't plan on going back to work for another year as i chose to stay at home with my daughter, would anyone consider me for car finance? I wouldn't have a deposit to put down either.

Answer.

Hi Tam, as you have a bad credit history we may struggle to get you approved but we do have a few lenders on our panel that help people who are unemployed, on benefits and have bad credit so there is still a possibility.

Please make an application and if approved you can choose a car from any reputable dealer and we also provide a no obligation quote. Kind Regards, Edwin

Question.

I work 6 hours a week due to having a baby a year ago, I want to upgrade my car to the new Vauxhall Mokka. I have good credit history, Could i get finance?

Posted by Melissa on

Answer.

Hi Melissa, thank you for your question. I would advise that you put a joint application through with maybe a partner/family member who is full time employed. This will hopefully strengthen your chances of an approval. Our underwriters can then assess both your credit profiles and see what the best option for you would be. Being part time does limit the number of lenders that will consider you so this may be the best option for you. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Edwin

Question.

Hello, I have seen a car i want from Evans Halshaw but i am unemployed due to ill health and struggling to get the finance.

I have a good credit score is there anyway i could work around this?

Posted by David Nichol on

Answer.

Hi David, thank you for your question.

The good news is that we do have lenders on our panel that help un-employed people who are on benefits get car finance. We also have more lenders on our panel than Evans Halshaw do.

As you have a good credit score this will certainly help! Please make an application and once approved you can choose a car from any reputable dealer and we also provide a no obligation quote. Kind Regards, Edwin

Question.

Hello, I am now unemployed by choice to be a housewife and look after our two kids. I have a poor credit rating.

My husband is self employed and also has a poor credit rating. We have a deposit of £2000 and we already have a car which was on finance and is paid off. Due to my husband working he needs the car so I need a car for my own use. Can myself or my husband get finance?

Posted by Andrea on

Answer.

Hi Andrea, thank you for your question.

We'd love to be able to help you finance a new car. The best chance you have is to make a joint application with your husband on our website. Adding a co-hirer strengthens your application.

As you have recently paid off your car finance on your current car this will look good in the eyes of our lenders. You also have a large deposit which will certainly help matters. Lastly, as your husband is self-employed we will need to see 3 months bank statements so that he can prove his income. Hopefully this won't cause a problem.

Please make an application when you're ready and once approved you can choose a car from any reputable dealer and we also provide a no obligation quote. Kind Regards, Edwin

Hi there. I am looking at car around £6-9 thousand pounds and have got fair credit.

I've been approved finance from car loans for you but, the interest rate is very high and was wondering if you could get a lower rate?

Hi Wayne, thank you for your question.

There is a possibility that we can secure you a better rate as we have a different lending panel to Carloan4u however, i can't guarantee this will be the case.

Please make an application after youhave reviewed your options and if approved you can choose a car from any reputable dealer and we also provide a no obligation quote. Kind Regards, Edwin

Question.

Hi, I have been laid of from my job so I am unemployed now, my current car has packed up, and I have bad credit. Would you be able to help me without a deposit? I really need a car to get a new job.

Posted by Shane parton on

Answer.

Hi Shane, thank you for your question.

We do have lenders that can help those that are currently unemployed with finance. Please inform us of any income you do receive, however, including benefits.

With regards to your bad credit, we still may be able to help, as we often help customers with circumstances similar to your own. Are you on the electoral roll? This would help us to get you an approval.

Please make an application when you're ready and if approved you can choose a car from any reputable dealer and we also provide a no obligation quote. Kind Regards, Edwin

Question.

I really need another car but after 2 years of buying second hand ones, I'm really looking to buy brand new. I do voluntary work for CAB, and have done this for 17 months. I'm married and my husband earns a good wage. My credit score is good. Would I be approved?

Posted by Hazel martin on

Answer.

Hi Hazel, Thanks for the question

The fact that you are not working full time if not a problem, you just need to make sure you give us a breakdown of all income (including benefits) on your application. With good credit, we can most definitely try our hardest to get you an approval.

Please make an application when you're ready and if approved we provide a no obligation quote and you can buy a car from any dealer. Kind Regards, Edwin
