Can I get car finance with an inconsistent work history?

Hi I have recently graduated from University and during my studies my work history was 'patchy' , switching between jobs, seasonal work and 12 months out of work during my final year to focus on studies.I have since gained permanent full time employment and was wondering if I would qualify for car finance instantly or if I would have to wait for a while to prove my employment status. I have a deposit/part exchange totalling approximately £3500 so would only require a further loan of £3000 (over 36 months preferrably) to fund my desired car valued at £6500.

Hi Chris, geting a car loan would be no trouble at all as you are now in employment. Do you get payslips though as you'd need to prove your income? Also what is your credit history/rating like? Another importnat things lenders look for is traceability. Are you currently on the voters roll at your current address and do you have any credit or loans registered there? Kind Regards, Edwin

Hi, I've been in my current job for only 1 month and was on benefits before that - are you able to still help even though my work history has been inconsistent?

Hi Matt, yes - we can get you finance even though you've only been in your job for 1 month. We'd just need to see a contract of employment potentially if we can get you approved. How is your credit history? Good or bad? If you have a good credit history we may not even be asked for proof of a job or income. Regards, Edwin
