Finance for self-employed Plumber

Hi there, I will be looking for a car on finance of approximately £4,500. I am a self-employed plumber, on the electoral roll and been on the same address for over three years. I am not entirely sure what my credit score is but I have not applied for credit in recent years, there was a default dating back over six years ago. I have one credit card and a store card with all payments up to date. If necessary I will be able to make a deposit contribution. I do not want to make an application, which is then refused and posted on my credit rating can you make just a ‘soft search’ which does not show on my profile? Also, can I make early repayments?

Hi there,

We work with a number of lenders that can help customers that are self-employed, so we may be able to help! Can you prove your income for the past 3 months? As you are self-employed, bank statements would be fine! With a fair credit score and a healthy income, we should be able to secure you an approval for the £4,500 that you require. When lenders look at your credit file they will usually look back over the last 5 years. If you've been in arrangements during this time then lenders will be able to see this information, they will also see the improvement’s you have made! Deposits certainly boost your chances of getting accepted.

To just do the soft search isn’t possible I’m afraid, and even if it was, it defeats the point in a way. In forwarding your application to one of our lenders, our intention is to help you obtain the finance you applied for in the first place! Regarding early settlements it would depend on the lender who you are accepted with as it differs with the finance companies, however once you are allocated to an adviser, if you ask them that question they will be able to advise.

Please make an application when you're ready and if approved you can choose a car from any reputable dealer and we also provide a no obligation quote. Kind Regards, Edwin
