Declined by Bristol Street for car finance

Hello, I have recently applied for car finance with Bristol street motors and was refused as my credit rating is poor but this is due to never having credit before and having numerous addresses.

I would really like to get car finance and also have a part exchange, would you be able to help as never been on electoral role either?

Hi Ross, apologies for the delayed response.
Your credit profile is one of major factors that a lender will look at when determining the suitability of the loan, so having minimal/no credit history can make lenders wary of lending. We do have lenders that can help those with a lack of credit history with finance, but they may ask for you to have a guarantor / co-hirer.
Can I just confirm that you have had no credit history at all? Any phone contract or mail order etc will be included in credit history. Kind regards, Edwin.

I have had phone contracts and direct debit and standing orders for years but as i mentioned before have always been declined credit, the only one thing i have had when i was 18 , 19 was a thousand pound loan when i wasn't working and on jsa which i was unable to keep to the repayments and was written off as far as i know. I was under the impression that would of been wiped by now and not be a problem! I take home £19,200 annually so repayments would be no problem would really appreciate some help if possible and have a part ex also, thanks for replying!

Hi Ross, I understand what you're saying.
As I stated earlier, there is a chance we can help but i cannot guarantee anything at this stage, therefore it is down to you as to whether you'd like to make an application to see if we can help or not. If you'd like to see if we can help, please make an application. If accepted, we provide a no obligation quote and you can buy a car from any reputable dealership. Kind Regards, Edwin

Hi, can you help me? I have awful credit and I have been turned down for car finance from Bristol street motors. I have a clean full licence which I have had over a year, could I get the finance in my mothers name but my bank account? Ryan

Hi Ryan, thank you for your question.

Firstly, we work with a large panel of lenders, many of whom specialise in providing finance to those with poor credit, so we may be able to help.

The issue arises in your mother taking out finance for you. This isn't allowed and would be classed as an 'accomodation deal'. If your mother signed a finance agreement, she would be agreeing that she would be the main driver on the insurance and the keeper of the car.

Your mother could still help your application, but this would be through acting as a guarantor or a joint-hirer instead of applying alone. Having a guarantor/joint-hirer may boost your chance of approval too. I hope this helps. Kind Regards, Edwin
