Hello, I’m looking for car finance on a classic car - is this possible?

Hi Paul. There are car loan lenders who will finance classic cars but unfortunately we wouldn't be able to help. We can only source cars that are a maximum of 12 years old at the end of the finance agreement. I wish you all the best in your hunt for classic car finance. UPDATE - Car Finance 247 now work with a lender who CAN finance classic cars! Apply for a loan on a classic car today!

Hi Edwin, i see this post is quite old - do you now have any lenders who help people like me secure finance for a classic car? My credit rating is ok, i am employed and on the electoral register. Thanks in advance, Eddie

Hi Eddie, i'm really glad you asked that question as we now have lenders on our panel who help finance classic cars. As long as the vehicle has full history, hasn't had a history in racing, is priced between £5000 and £100,000 and is registered from 1950 to date we can help. You seem to tick the boxes in terms of your employment and electoral roll status so as long as you can prove your income and have some current clean credit i'm confident we can help. What vehicle is it you have your eye on? I look forward to receiving your classic car application shortly. Kind Regards, Edwin

I own a 1987 Mercedes 300SL classic car which is in show condition and used in summer months only. I would estimate it has a realistic current value of £16/17,000. There is no outstanding finance on the car. I would like to raise a loan against the car (of about £10,000) rather than sell it. Is this the sort of finance that you would consider?

Hi Paul, the car you describe is certainly one that a lender on our panel would look to finance. As long as you have a good credit history i think we'll be able to help you out. Please let me know your reference number after you have applied. Have a good evening. Edwin
