Hi, I am looking to buy a new family car, a Volvo XC90. Problem is I had credit problems in the past and have a poor credit profile. I had a couple of defaults a few years ago which are settled, and one which I wasnt aware of which I settled last year. I earn nearly £49k a year and come out with over £2400 a month after tax. Work give me £450 a month car allowance (before tax). I have been refused unsecured finance recently by my bank due to credit score. Do you think you could help?
Hi Alan, as long as your defaults weren't over £5000 and on HP (hire purchase) for a car then we should be able to get you approved. Do you have a deposit or part exchange to place into the deal? Are your current payments up to date on all of your live agreements? Kind Regards, Edwin
My defaults were for a couple of hundred here and there on credit cards. All my current payments are up to date. I do have a car to sell but I'll be selling that private so I can clear off other finances also part ex prices not as good as selling private.
Hi, I'll get the new car before I sell the old one.
One question though, are the cars you have on the website all the cars you have available. Reason for asking is that youy dont have what I'm looking for on there. I dont want to apply for finance for you not to have the car im after.
Black Volvo XC90 diesel, with Black leather interior, Black tinted rear windows, less than 90k miles ideally, and certainly no more than 100k. Dont want to really spend any more than £230 a month over 5 years.
Hi Alan, i have been informed by our sales manager that if you're approved getting a Black Volvo XC90 will not be an issue at all. You may just have to sacrifice the tinted windows and have them applied yourself (not unless we land lucky with our sources). Kind Regards, Edwin
so the rest of the spec, mileage and monthly payment look ok?
If I apply and you cant find the one i want, can I just walk away, and what effect will this have on my credit file?
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I get this right.
Hi Alan, if we get you approved and we can't locate the car you want then yes - you can walk away. The mileage & spec seem fine and the payments should be ok however, it all depends upon which lender we get you approved with. Kind Regards, Edwin
