Car Finance For Part Time Workers

Hello Rachel, i'm currently struggling to obtain car finance as i only work part time.

Do you have any lenders that can help part time workers? Thank you

Esmerelda Smith

Answer

Hi Esmerelda, Thank you for your question and for using our Q&A. The good news is that we can help you as we have a few lenders who help individuals that only work part time.

How is your credit history and do you have a part exchange or cash deposit to place into the deal? Are you on the voters roll and i assume you have a full UK licence? Please clarify and then apply and we'll get a decision on your car loan application within minutes.

I understand that it can be hard sometimes to obtain credit as you're a part time worker but we have lenders that will understand your position :-) Have a great day. Rachel

Hello, I work 24 hours a week on a contract and receive child and working tax credits. Can I get finance as I also have poor credit?

Hi Joanne, we'll certainly try and help get you approved for credit and as you work over 16 hours a week this is a positive sign for lenders. We also have lenders on our panel that do take into account working tax credits so i'm hopeful we can get you accepted. Do you have a deposit or part exchange and are you on the electoral roll? I currently have 2 part time secure jobs and require finance. I have contacted a few other finance company's but I'm unable to obtain finance due to having 2 part time jobs. Can CarFinance 247 help me to secure finance so I'm able to purchase a car? Thanks

Answer

Hi Shane, we'd love to help and as long as you can prove your income with payslips or bank statements there shouldn't be any reason why we can't help you as we have lenders who do help people with part time jobs. Do you have good or bad credit? Regards, Rachel :-)

I'm a 21 year old student. I work at co -op during the holidays and earn around £900 a month. Then part time during term-time. Do you think i would i be able to get finance of £4000 for a new car? And would my chances improve if my partner agreed to be a guarantor? He's currently earning over £40k.

Answer

Hi Hannah, £4000 if approved shouldn't be a problem at all - just make sure you keep all your payslips. Yes - your chances will be greatly improved if youhave a guarantor in place. Kind Regards, Rachel

Hi, I can't get finance myself and my mum is considering applying for finance for me. My worry is that if she does this and in a couple of years she wishes to get finance for herself will she get rejected? She has a very good credit rating and income. Thanks.

Answer

Hi Michelle, your Mum could have 2 or even 3 finance agreements in her own name as long as she has a good credit history so i wouldn't let that stop her applying for car finance. The V5 / logbook would have to be in your mothers name though and you could be a named driver on the insurance. Regards, Rachel

I currently work 1 day part-time for one company and have a 6 year part-time history there where I used to work higher hours, however I now work a full-time job on a temporary contract (which I have had for over a year and has no end date). I am looking for a car finance/loan. My credit is scored as 'fair' with equifax as I have an old default for £150. No other adverse credit. Would there be a possibility of me obtaining credit? Many thanks

Answer

Hi Kirsty, i'm confident that we will be able to secure you car finance with fair credit as long as you're on the electoral roll and you can prove your income. If you receive any other income please put that down on the application form as that will also be taken into account. Please make an application on the site when you feel ready. Kind Regards, Rachel

Hi there. I am interested in getting a car on finance Worth around £3000. I work part time, earning about £400/£500 per month. I have two direct debits which I pay on time. Would I be eligible for finance?

Answer

Hi Aaron, we may possibly be able to help you. The fact that you are employed part time isn't a problem but it does limit the number of lenders we can look to get you approved with. What are the direct debits for? Do you have any other credit such as a credit card/ loan/ overdraft? Are you registered on the electoral roll? If the answer is yes then we should definitely be able to help. Please make an application when you are ready, Rachel

I currently am a nanny in England and also work part time as a care support worker. As I live with the family I am working for as a nanny I have no outgoings in the form of bills or food etc. However, I am not on the electoral roll or on a fixed annual income as my care support hours vary weekly. On average I receive about £200 per month for my part time work. I am struggling to find finance for people who have a variable income. I am looking to borrow about £3000 over 60 months and have a deposit of £400 and my credit score is about 800. Would you be able to help?

Answer

Hi Anna, thank you for your question. We do have lenders that help people who work part time but as you say you are a nanny how long have you been in the UK? Lenders we work with need to see proof of 3 years residential history before lending any funds. Also do you have any active credit in the UK - so, a bank account, credit card or contract mobile phone? Kind Regards, Rachel

Hi,
I'm currently working 15 hours a week, receive additional benefits, such as child tax credits, and in total I receive around £1750 a month. I'm currently waiting for my electoral role application to be updated, and I'm 20 points away from a "fair" score. I hope once this has updated I will be "fair". I also have a £1k deposit and am looking to borrow £6k, what are my chances?

Answer

Hi Jamie, thank you for your question,

Your credit isn't too bad, and you have a good regular income and decent deposit. We do have lenders who can help people receiving benefits, so we can try our best to help you!

Please make an application when you're ready and if approved we provide a no obligation quote and you can buy a car from any dealer. Kind Regards, Rachel
