The Information we Collect
Personal information on the Site may be gathered in two ways, as follows:
We may collect and process the following data about you (“your information”):
Throughout the Site, we provide opportunities for you to apply for various products and services, including, amongst other things, car data checks and car finance. When we collect this type of information, we will notify you of the reason we are asking for information and how this information will be used. It is completely up to you whether or not you want to provide it.
We are aware that your information may be confidential and we will protect the confidentiality of your information in accordance with our normal procedures and legal requirements.
How we Use the Information
We use your information:
The relevant information may also shared with our agents, credit reference agencies, third party lenders and sub-contractors to deal with your enquiries, process your transaction and communicate with you on any matter relating to the provision of products or services or in general, provided of course you agree.
We may monitor your use of the Site and record your email address and/or IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregated information to third parties such as advertisers to enable them to assess the value of advertising on the Site. The statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual.

We only keep your information for as long as is necessary.
We may also wish to contact you:
We may also pass your information to other organisations (if you consent) who may contact you to provide marketing information about their products and services by mail, phone, email or SMS.
If you have consented to receive such material or for us to use your information in this way, you are entitled to unsubscribe at any time by sending us an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.

Your Information Shared
We may process and to share your information in the following ways:
Businesses we do not control
Sale of Business
If the business is sold or integrated with another business, your details may be disclosed to our advisers and any prospective purchasers and their advisers and will be passed on to the new owners of the business.
Credit Reference Agencies
When you make an application with us, we will carry out a search with credit reference agencies (Equifax and/or Experian) for the purpose of assessing your credit score in connection with your application for finance. We will only do a soft search of your details which is not visible to other lenders so even if you are declined at this stage it won't be reflected on your credit file. Credit reference agencies will provide a credit scoring computation and if, based on this score, we can proceed with your application we will pass your information onto a number of suitable lenders (two on average) who will carry out a hard search on your credit file.
If your application for finance is successful, we may make a subsequent search with the same credit reference agencies (Equifax and/or Experian) on each anniversary of the date your application is approved. This soft-search of your details will not be visible to other lenders.
Credit reference agencies hold public and credit account information about you including details from the electoral register, county court judgments, bankruptcies, individual voluntary arrangements, administration orders and other data on how you are managing existing credit agreements. Carrying out hard searches will enable the lenders to calculate the level of risk of providing credit to you based on the information obtained. Such searches will be recorded on your credit file leaving a footprint and this allows other lenders and organisations to see when and how many times your credit information has been accessed.
To verify your identity, prevent crime and assist in the recovery of debt, we may exchange information from time to time with fraud prevention agencies (including CIFAS), debt recovery agencies, and other relevant organisations including other lenders.
Third party lenders
We may share your information with other third party lenders (including companies whose products or services are not included on the Site) in the event that your application is declined by all of our available lenders. This will enable you to be considered for alternative loan options and financial products which are more suited to your circumstances. Such third parties may carry out further searches against you of credit reference agencies for the purposes of assessing your credit score and any such searches will be recorded on your credit file. See Credit Reference Agencies section above for details of these searches. For further information about these third parties please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We may share your information with the dealer you have selected to purchase a vehicle from within MyCarFinance247. We will only do this in order to facilitate the deal and avoid any unnecessary delays.
We may share your information where it is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property, other users, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities. We also reserve the right to disclose user information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
If you do not want us to use your information in this way, please tick the relevant boxes during the order process when we collect your information. You may ask us at any time to use your information for marketing purposes by contacting us at email@example.com.
