I need £2000 for a Car Loan. Can I Apply with CarFinance 247?

My car finance has been approved with yourselves but I only wanted to borrow around £2000 which I stated on the application. I received a telephone call from your team saying that you would only lend me £6000 plus to buy a car, and we have to put the first £400, this is not stated on your website and why is this when we don't need to borrow so much?? Many thanks, Melanie

Hi Melanie, thank you for your question and apologies for the delayed response. Unfortunately the lender you have been approved with does have some minimum criteria that has to be met. As they are financing the car (the asset) they need to be sure they are financing the money they are lending against a good quality car to protect their exposure. The £6000 is the minimum lend and the £400 is required but if you stretch the £6000 over 4-5 years for example you can get the same monthly payments as say borrowing the £2000 over 2 years and you can also be assured of getting a car that is perhaps still under manufacturers warranty. You can also swap your car after 2-3 years so you don't have to keep the vehicle for the full term. I hope this makes sense and i'm sorry about the current situation but we'd still love to deal with you if we can work a deal out. Have a great evening. Rachel

Hiya, I'm wondering if you can advise me. I am looking to get finance for a car in the region of £3,000. I was discharged from bankruptcy 2 years ago (sequestration). I have been employed full time for 3 months, I rent a property that I've currently lived

Hi Martin, as you get wage slips they will suffice for proof of income. Would you have a deposit at all as that would help your chances of being approved? Are you on the electoral roll and do you have a full UK licence? If so, we stand a chance but nothing can be guaranteed until we see your credit profile. Have a great day. Rachel

I am looking to finance a new car for £4000 over 48 months and wanted to know what the monthly payments would be? I've had finance before but have given the car to my sister who is paying the finance although it's still in my name. My income is £1400 per

Hi Kealan, thank you for your question. With a healthy monthly income of £1400, we'd be fairly confident of being able to get you approved for the £4000 needed. The amount you repay will depend upon your credit history but as a rough guide if you have a good credit history you'll be paying £100 per month over 48 months for £4000. Please make an application when you're ready and, if approved, you can choose a car from any reputable dealer and we also provide a no obligation quote. Kind Regards, Rachel

Hi Saj, thank you for your question and I apologise for the delayed response. Your chances of obtaining 20k vehicle finance will increase once you are full time employed. I would advise that you wait until you have been employed at least 3 months as many lenders require 3 months payslips/bank statements. Meeting affordability for £20k should not be a problem with your future salary. How is your current credit? have you been keeping up payments? are you registered on the electoral roll at your current address? If the answer to these is yes then we should have no problem securing you an approval I hope this helps. Rachel

Hi Connor, we'd love to help and we'll try our best. Your age does cause some concerns but as you're only after £3000 approx we should be able to help. Just a few questions. You mention you have moved out. Are you on the electoral roll at your current address as this is important and do you have any current active clean credit registered at that address (credit card, store card, contract mobile phone, loan etc)? Hi Jodie, you can check your personal credit file out at Experian. You'll find them on the net with a quick Google search. Checking your credit does not have an adverse effect on your credit file. You can only take out a personal contract lease on a new or nearly new car. Is the car you want to buy in this category? If not, and you are buying a used car then you'll need car finance or a personal loan. Let me know how you would like to proceed :-)

Hi Adam, with limited credit history, it may be beneficial to your application to have one of your parent's on the agreement as a guarantor. Is this an option? That way the finance and the car can be in your name and you can build up your credit profile. Please apply when you feel ready. Regards, Rachel

Hi Jodie, as you have a large deposit and you only say you've missed a few monthly payments in the past we should be able to secure you car finance. The only thing that may go against you is your age and lack of credit. Other that the store card do you have any other form of active credit? Also, are you on the electoral roll? Regards, Rachel
