I Have Bad Credit but Need Car Finance Without a Guarantor.

Hello, i'm 18 and looking into getting car finance.

I have a pretty terrible credit rating and haven't got anyone as a guarantor. Sounds bad i know, but is there any way around this do you think? Many thanks, Jessica.

There is a small chance we can get you accepted for car finance as long as you’re employed, have a full UK licence, have a small deposit (cash or part exchange) and are on the electoral roll at your current address.

I’d be more confident if you had a guarantor who had better credit to apply alongside you but this isn’t possible i know. I am fully employed through an agency at the moment but this should be made permanent at the beginning of July. Would this go against my application?

Hi, my son is has been employed by an agency for about 2 years. Would he be able to get finance for a car?

Hi Alex, as long as your son has a UK bank account and driving licence and can prove his income with payslips or bank statements then we should be able to get him finance.

I have worked for 2 agencies in the last 2 years in the automotive industry. Due to pay incentives i have moved to a better paid agency. Would this go against any application for finance for a car?

Due to your age you may well struggle to secure finance for an Audi A1 without a co-hirer on the agreement. Would it be possible to add a parent to the agreement with their permission obviously?

The amount you'll be able to borrow will also depend upon your current credit history and income. Are you employed, can you prove your income and do you have any current clean credit history? All of this would aid our chances. A deposit would also help greatly.

Hi Geraldine, the age you have to be to apply for car finance can vary from lender to lender as they all have different criteria.

However, in the main most lenders can potentially help people that are 18 and over. How old are you and what is your credit history like? To get approved (if you are under 21) you'd have a greater chance if you added a co-hirer such as a parent.

Hi, I'm on disability benefits ESA and DLA but not mobility component.
