Do I Need to be Employed to Apply for Finance?
Whether you’ve made the decision to retire, leave work to focus on childcare, or found yourself temporarily out of work, being unemployed can make it harder to find car finance. But that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the road.
Here at CarFinance 247, we know that a car can be an essential when you’re unemployed. You might need a car to get the kids to school or make an urgent hospital appointment, and it might even be difficult to find a new job without access to a vehicle to travel to work or attend interviews.
The good news is that we work with a panel of lenders, which means we can look to find finance for people with a wide variety of circumstances, including those who are unemployed, receiving a pension, or on benefits.
There are a range of options available, but you may find it easier to secure a loan if you have a good credit score or a deposit to put down. You can find out more about improving your credit score here.
If you’re a homemaker, housewife or househusband, for example, there are lenders on our panel who could provide joint finance or finance with a guarantor.
Even so, we can’t guarantee that we’d be able to help as every lender is different and every loan is based on your individual circumstances. You might see guaranteed car finance being advertised elsewhere but you might want to be wary about anyone making these claims.
Why don’t we offer guaranteed car finance? It doesn’t exist! It’s important to us that we’re open and honest with our customers and we would never guarantee finance to anyone who might find it difficult to secure a loan or keep up with monthly repayments.
